Popis
A traveler stands outside a stone house at night, lifting his hand in request while a man leans from an upper window to answer him. The closed door, the staff in the visitor’s hand, and the exchange between neighbors portray Jesus’ parable of the friend who asks for bread at midnight. In Luke 11, the man seeks food for an unexpected guest, and though the householder has already shut the door, persistence moves the request forward. The scene teaches persevering prayer: not a timid wish, but a faithful appeal made to one who can provide. It belongs with Christ’s instruction, “Ask, and it shall be given you,” showing the Father’s readiness to answer beyond the reluctance of earthly friends.
